Jim Blue

James Blue - Chairman & CEO - Jim joined Bostonian Group in 1989 and is currently chairman of the board and CEO.  Jim devotes much of his time to direct client contact and firmly believes that building solid relationships results in providing the best possible services to our clients. As an entrepreneur with strong business acumen, his approach to solving clients’ problems is strategic first and tactical second. He is resolute to Bostonian Group’s 360° approach to our clients and relentless in his pursuit of integration across all practices, providing a full complement of services to satisfy every client need.  Jim earned his undergraduate degree from Boston College.

Phil Litos

Phil Litos - President and COO -Phil brings over 25 years of executive level management experience in the health benefits industry to Bostonian Group. During his tenure at Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA he held a variety of senior positions, the last nine years serving as vice president. His responsibilities included directing the claims and customer service operations, building new distribution channels and overseeing national and major account client relationships. As president of Bostonian Group, Phil is responsible for sales, marketing, practice management and overall operations of the business.

Pete Pedro

Peter Pedro, Jr. - Senior Vice President, New Business Development -Peter joined Bostonian Group in 1999 as Senior Vice President, becoming a partner in 2004.  He is directly responsible for identifying and nurturing strategic relationships for the firm. He brings over 19 years experience in the employee benefits field holding senior positions in Sales, Underwriting and Client Management. Prior to joining Bostonian Group, he served as director of sales for Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA. Peter is an active member of Human Resource Leadership Forum and is considered an expert in the employee benefits field. In 1997 he was selected by the Boston Business Journal for their annual 40 Under 40 Award.  He is a trustee of Associated Early Care & Education, Boston Health Care for the Homeless, Bottom Line and Agganis Foundation. Peter has authored and published several articles on various employee benefit topics. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Albany 1990 and was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997. 

Joe D'Arrigo

 

Joseph D’Arrigo - Principal and Advisor -Joe brings 40 plus years of experience in the benefit business to Bostonian Group. He has worked as an underwriter and sales person, built a highly successful employee benefit consulting company and then, through a strategic alliance, established a successful distribution channel for a major insurance company. In addition to being an active advisor, Joe is a member of the board of directors of Bostonian Group and a stock¬holder. Joe is active in many nonprofit boards for Boys & Girls Club of Dorchester, Police Athletic League, and Ron Burton Training Village.   

 

 
Dom Sestito
Dominic F. Sestito - Principal, Property & Casualty -A motivational leader with strong team building skills, Dominic brings 20 years of management and leadership experience to Bostonian Group. He oversees the firm’s Property & Casualty practice, developing customized solutions for his clients in the area of product and liability coverage. In addition, he is responsible for all information technology and marketing functions firm-wide. Prior to joining Bostonian Group, Dominic was president and COO of Telamon Insurance & Financial Network where he grew retail sales by 50% over three years. Dominic has reengineered and built national accounts customer service departments and implemented customer-focused processes to improve customer service. Dominic has a master of business administration from Bentley College and a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University. 
Chris DeLorey

Christopher J. DeLorey - Principal, Bostonian Solutions -Chris began his career as a life insurance agent, then became an employee benefits consultant so that he could better advocate on behalf of his clients who entrust him with the well being of their employees. As principal of Bostonian Solutions, Inc., he is committed to helping companies manage their health care costs. Chris actively promotes the importance of a stable health insurance system in Massachusetts and on a national level. Chris was an original member of the Governor’s Quality and Cost Council, an integral part of the landmark healthcare reform legislation in Massachusetts. As a recognized expert in the field, he is a frequent speaker on health insurance issues for the Massachusetts Association of Approved Private Schools, the Massachusetts Municipal Association, and other civic groups. Chris received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont. He holds life, accident and health; Series 6 and 63 and is a Life Underwriters’ Training Council Fellow (LUTCF). Chris lives in Belmont, MA with his wife and three children.

Lori Baronian
Lori Baronian - Director, HR Services -With over 15 years of combined experience in staffing management, recruitment and human resources, Lori oversees our HR Services consulting practice in addition to the company’s talent acquisition strategy in order to effectively grow the business and provide a competitive advantage. Prior to joining Bostonian Group in 2007, Lori worked for Pepsi Bottling Group, Sun Life Financial, New Boston Systems, and Talent Tree Staffing. She earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Rhode Island, and a certificate in Employee Relations Law from the Institute for Applied Management. Lori is a member of NEHRA, and is actively involved with The Bottom Line organization.
Bob Clark
Robert Clark, AIF® - Managing Director, Retirement Services - Bob oversees the servicing of the firm’s retirement clients and the cultivating of new consulting relationships. He has extensive experience in all aspects of the management of retirement plans including plan design, investments, fiduciary responsibility, cost containment and employee communication. Prior to joining Bostonian Group in 2005, Bob spent over 20 years in the retirement industry working for UBS, New York Life Investment Management and CIGNA in a variety of positions including 401(k) sales and marketing, pension investment consulting and retirement plan consulting. Bob has achieved the AIF designation, and holds Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses.
Maureen Ervin
Maureen Ervin - Controller - Maureen joined Bostonian Group in 2006 and brings over 15 years of experience in public and private practice. Maureen is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a master’s degree in taxation from Bentley University. As the controller of Bostonian Group she is responsible for improving profitability, establishing financial and business metrics and strengthening business operations and controls. Prior to joining the firm, Maureen worked as the controller for Direct Federal Credit Union, a large regional credit union with more than $750M in assets. Maureen currently serves in a consulting capacity to several community and civic organizations.
Scott Kirschner
Scott Kirschner - Managing Consultant, Employee Benefits Practice - Scott advises clients on benefit strategies, population health management, plan design, funding and cost containment for group medical, dental, life and disability programs, flexible benefits, paid time off programs and work/life benefits. Prior to joining Bostonian Group, Scott was a senior consultant at Towers Perrin, a senior manager in the HR advisory solutions practice at KPMG LLP and a consultant at Watson Wyatt. Scott has provided strategic advice and consulting expertise to numerous international, national and regional clients on benefit programs and HR operations.  He has worked extensively in the human resources aspect of mergers, acquisitions and divestures, as well as advising clients on HR operations, Sarbanes-Oxley and employee service centers.
 
John MancusoJohn Mancuso - Managing Director, Executive Compensation & Benefits - John joined Bostonian Group in 2003. Prior to joining the firm, John was with the employee benefits consulting practices of PricewaterhouseCoopers and Watson Wyatt Worldwide. John has extensive experience with executive compensation and benefits design, funding, compliance, communication and education, administration, investments and Total Rewards assessments to optimize the return on executive rewards programs. John also has extensive experience in strategic plan design, compliance, administration, employee education, investments and technology services for both qualified and non-qualified plans in for profit and tax-exempt employers for both defined benefit and defined contribution plans. John has written several articles and presented at many seminars on Total Rewards and retirement and capital accumulation plan design strategy.  He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Merrimack College, a master of business administration from Northeastern University and a certificate in benefits administration from Bentley College. John holds FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses.
Ken Ralff
Ken Ralff - Associate Director, Employee Benefits Practice - Ken joined Bostonian Group in 2005. He provides strategic advice and consulting expertise to develop comprehensive, cost effective employee benefit programs, including plan design, funding and cost containment for group medical, dental, life and disability programs, as well as flexible benefits, business travel accident and outsourcing services. Ken brings 20 years of employee benefits expertise to his role at Bostonian Group. He was previously a managing consultant at Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs (HRH.) Ken received his bachelor’s degree from Clark University and lives in Norfolk, MA with his wife and two children. He is an active member of NEEBC.
Rick Reed
Rick Reed, AIF® - Managing Consultant, Retirement Services - Rick joined Bostonian Group in 2004, bringing significant expertise in retirement plans and market analysis. Prior to joining Bostonian Group, Rick worked as a senior relationship manager at Diversified Investment Advisors and at MFS Retirement Services where he worked with large corporate retirement plans. Rick’s experience includes building client relations, retirement plan design and implementation, investment analysis and employee communications. Rick has a master of business administration from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and holds certified employee benefits specialist (CEBS) and certified fund specialist (CFS) designations. He has achieved the AIF designation, and is FINRA Series 7, 63 and 66 licensed.
